Javea is located on the eastern tip of the Spanish peninsular on the Northern Costa Blanca. It is a destination favoured by Spanish and other Europeans for it´s fantastic climate, which provides hot summers and mild winters. Yet, there is abundance of greenery due the slightly cooler temperatures and a little more rain than its southern neighbours. As well as a network of underground springs and run offs from the famous Montgo mountain, providing water for the green vegetation.

The natural beauty of the area has brought a great mix of European nationalities together since the start of the tourist industry in Spain, along with Spanish visitors from Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona and other inland cities. This has created a diverse and cosmopolitan town for everyone to enjoy. Javea boasts some of the finest restaurants in Spain as well as some great family friendly beach restaurants and bars. Supermarkets and shops cater for everyone’s taste from the big international stores to local niche shops.

Javea is an all year-round town with local Spanish and the great mix of British and many other European nationalities that have made it their home. Everything is open all year and there is as much to do in the winter for the locals as there is for the tourists in the summer months. It is a family town with two renown international schools as well as several Spanish schools where the students are not only Spanish but come from all over the world.

Javea has three defined areas, the Arenal sandy beach, the Port and the Old Town (Pueblo). The Arenal beach is enjoyed by every age group with its soft sandy beach that has a gentle gradient out to sea. There is a promenade with a abundant mix of bars and restaurants, from smart fine dining, to ice cream parlours, family restaurants, trendy bars and late-night discos. A long day spent on the beach followed by a great meal, then dancing the night away – Perfect for a hot summers day and night.

The Port has a stony beach and a promenade with bars, restaurants and shops. There is a marina and sailing club which caters for the hobby sailors, but it is also a working fishing port and you can watch the fisherman bring in their daily catch. You can also catch a small ferry to Denia for a day trip which is a very enjoyable day out. There are also several fiestas held in the port, a must is the Moors and Christians parade in July, as well as the spectacular fireworks display in September.

The Old Town is the place to go for the main Javea Fiestas, renown for their crazy partying, jumping fires and generally having fun and causing mayhem! This happens around the middle of June and ends on the day of San Juan 24th June. The old town is the historic centre of Javea and you will find more info lovely cobbled streets with traditional townhouses, tapas bars and shops. There is a market every Thursday where you can purchase a huge array of fresh seasonal products.

Javea is not all about eating and drinking, there is a large selection of sports and activities on offer. Every water sport you can imagine - paddle boarding, surfing, sailing, windsurfing, jet skiing, diving, kayaking, swimming and much more. There is also the David Ferrer tennis club with it´s many courts, restaurant, gym and pool. Moving here with children there is a wonderful children’s football club, as well as gymnastics, judo, dance, basketball and many more activities and clubs for children.
